I had an interesting call this morning from Astaro. They are a provider of Network Security located in Wilmington, MA. Astaro specializes in UTM or Unified Threat Management. Their mainstream security platform is known as the Astaro Security Gateway and has won many awards including this years “Best SME Security Solution” from SC Magazine.
Astaro recently started shipping two complimentary solutions known as Astaro RED (Remote Ethernet Device) which simplifies the setup and management of small remote offices. While these are areas that we currently don’t focus on today, I thought they had some very interesting solutions. Why? Because it is sometimes a challenge to cost justify an MPLS connection for very small offices. But the Astaro solution makes it remarkably easy to add an office to your securely to your network. Much easier and with better network security than competitive solutions that we are all so familiar with.
